October 2018 Update

October 2018 Update

Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. – Ps. 127:1
This is what the LORD Almighty says: "… Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build the house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored," says the LORD. – Hag. 1:7-8

Dearly Beloved:

Obedience to the Lord is definitely a challenge, but the joy that comes from it is unquestionably incomparable to anything obtained without the Lord!  We are convinced that the Lord continues to build His house in our hearts; and that He has granted us a special privilege to build a physical house for worshipping Him; in which He will take pleasure.  Please pray with us as we endeavor this project!

-      Building project
The work of the building project has been officially launched.  This occurred on Thursday, October 18.  The raining season, which ends in October, continues to linger a little bit longer, which is posing a little challenge to the effectiveness of the work as well as the work schedule.  But we are confident it will be over soon.  We are in full gear to work.  We are persuaded that the Lord is in control of the project and everything associated with it.  As He leads, we are praying to faithfully follow.
The security house is set to function well as desired.  The block molding and the digging of the foundation are next.

-      Outreach
The outreach team has been stepping up as the raining season gives way to the dry during which time outdoor activities are increased.  The team has visited two places.  We hope to start reporting figures of attendants, alter calls and those who will respond to being followed-up or attending discipleship classes.  Please pray with us that we will balance our service to the Lord and not throw all our weights on few services or one like the building project.

-      Trauma Healing
The trauma healing is going well.  I was privileged to join Mrs. Nancy Writebol to go north to Nimba County to train people as Trauma Healing Facilitators.  Ma Nancy, as she is known in Liberia, is the SIM missionary who contracted the Ebola virus and was flown home to the States for treatment.  The grace of God saved her from the fangs of Ebola.  She and her husband, David, returned to Liberia to continue their ministry.  She is the head of all who are providing Trauma Healing counseling in Liberia.
We spent a week and trained 20 people as Trauma Healing facilitators.  Hearts and heads or minds are severely bleeding from the trauma this country has, and is experiencing.  The need for trauma healing cannot be overemphasized.  Praise the Lord for Ma Nancy!  Please pray for her and all of us who are involved in this trauma healing ministry.

-      Personal counseling
My engagements have slowed personal counseling with individuals, but I hope to resume as soon as I make some adjustments in my current activities.

-      Engaging false teaching
There is an interdenominational gospel male chorus group called Cherubim International Male Chorus Inc. that ministers around the country.  They were approached by a man who offered to adopt and make them part of his religious group.  He is PhD and a lecturer.  He lived and studied in Jerusalem for over ten years.  He has studied many of the world main religions, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Baha’i, Mormons, etc.  He was very convincing when he talked to the male chorus group.  The leader of the group contacted me to join them to meet this man the second time.  We met. After an hour of discussion in the presence of the male chorus group, the lecturer and his wife were eager and glad to leave.  Not even one member of the group was interested any longer in them or their attractive offers.  Praise the Lord, the TRUTH prevailed!

-      Personal challenges – health
The Lord continues to bless me with good and steady health. Praises to His glorious Name! Although I continue to adhere to good health practices, I acknowledge that it is the Lord Jesus who continue to grant me good health.  Glory to His name!

-      Personal support
Every time I thank supporters, I am reminded of the goodness and faithfulness of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Every living thing depends on Him daily.  He meets all the needs and He is not weary or burden.  He certainly cares for His kingdom work He started on this earth.  I am always encouraged how that many have committed their lives to see His command delightfully obeyed and honored.  God bless and keep us all.

My monthly support of $2,500 has risen to 70% per average.  I am grateful and thankful to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! I am also thankful and grateful to you who are on my support team.  I pray the Lord remember you in all your undertakings.
I continue to pray and trust God for a used vehicle. This is a serious need for me.  The lack of personal transportation slows me many times in serving effectively.  Please keep me in your prayers regarding this need.

I appeal again that if the Lord touch you to join my support team whether monthly or for the vehicle provision, please do in the name of Jesus.  All donations can be sent to:

At Last an Update, Dec. 2016

At Last an Update

Merry Christmas …

Lam. 3:25 – The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him.

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ!  Truly the Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him.  He allows challenges to teach us to trust Him.  It can be tough, but spiritually uplifting.  The last few months have been full of such teachings for me.

My computer that had shown no sign of problem at any time suddenly went dead.  I took it for servicing.  After a few days, it was released it to me.  The very night I was scheduled to make a Skype call, the computer went dead 10 minutes before the time.  After two weeks of fruitless effort to restore the computer, I borrowed a friend’s to complete some works.  The very day I started to write an update, the borrowed computer also had power failure.
I took our administrator’s computer to write an update.  He informed me that some keys had problems.  I checked and found out that two of the keys were not working.  I took it home hoping to write the update improvising for the non-functional keys.  When I booted it at home, only one key was working.

I turned to my iPad.  Concerned that the electrical power supply could be a factor in the breakdown of the first two computers despite the power supply was city power, and also the computer power cords have regulators, I still used caution in supplying power to my iPad.  The iPad also failed to boot or start.

Frustration and desperation began to set in.  An entire day without a computer for me was a day not well spent at all.  After a month going through these computer challenges, the frustration and desperation grew to new heights. I headed for the Internet Café to write an update.  There was one not too far from my location.  When I arrived there, I was greeted by a restaurant that had taken over from the café.  The other three cafés I knew around the area had all been demolished due to road construction.  I recognized one of the guys in a little boot operating a photocopy machine.  He was previously running his machine in one of the cafés.  He informed me that the cafés were demolished and not relocated.
After a while, I borrowed another computer.  It had no Microsoft Office program.  I decided to write the update while on the internet, but the computer is corrupted such that connection to the internet last up to 20 seconds and not more.
All the borrowed computers are still in my care either to repair or return in their conditions.

I borrowed another computer at the beginning of this week.  This computer is working perfectly, but now, I am having problem with city power supply.  The government is changing city power supply from generators to hydro power.  So there is a trial going on.  In my location in the last few weeks, we’ve received about an hour of electricity per day given in 15 to 20 minutes periods.  Sometimes it is too dim or too high and could damage electricity appliances.  Sometimes we’ve gone for days without electricity.  So I have worked on my old generator and thank God it is very useful!
I am thankful to Him who constantly direct and help me recognize my greatest need, which is to depend on Him more than I depend on computer and/or anything in my everyday living and walking with Him.

Praise the Lord that the land issue is finally settled in that we have acquired all necessary documents that made us legitimate owners.  We are grateful and thankful to our Lord Jesus Christ for His answers to our prayers.

Our teachers are doing well with their classes as is evident in the way our people are stepping out in defense of their faith.  From the day he embraced the faith with us in 2013, Bro. Henry Dolo has always been proud of his faith.  He has good-humored and is relational, but he was challenged when it came to making clarification through teaching or debating; hence, he often avoided defending his faith before other religious people.  But now, Bro. Dolo is actively defending his faith.  He has been in one of the classes since it started.  He rents in a large compound with many others.  People often stop in their compound to witness.  Now, he does not avoid them.  Recently, he engaged some Witnesses in discussion and refuted their teachings on salvation such that those very people do avoid him and his compound now.  People in his compound often seek him when preachers or witnesses engage them in the compound, though his job keeps him away most of the time.  Praise the Lord!

Counseling continues and is challenging and encouraging as ever.  I find delight in doing it and my passion for it is only growing deeper.  Currently, there is no group counseling, only individuals.  It is going well except the demand is growing higher and desperate as more people recognize and acknowledge the benefit of counseling.  I recently started meeting with a lady who is seriously struggling with lots of problems.  She even threatened her husband with death because of something a “Prayer Mother” (“prophetess”) told her about her husband; which is a terrible lie.  She originally rejected counseling when she was directed to me.  But now, she seeks it more than anyone.  She often walk into my office without appointment and demand to be seen even before those that made appointments.  Praise the Lord for some improvement in her situation, thought little.
Another challenge is that I am experiencing too many interruptions in counseling schedules and sections.  I am praying for wisdom to know how to properly address these interruptions.

To the praise of our Lord, we are expecting our Missionaries, Randy and Patricia Walchle soon! Their arrival date is not yet set, but they are working hard at it so that the date could fall around the end of January.  Randy and Patricia (Pati) Walchle are from Grace Community Bible Church in Venice FL.  After much prayer and discussion, they felt led for us to work together.
They are being sent by The Mission Society (TMS) to serve with us in Liberia.  We are thankful and grateful to the Lord Jesus Christ for blessing us with them to work together for the Lord.  Please continue to remember them in your prayers.

Praise and thanks be to our Lord Jesus for all of you supporters!  Thank you for your generous giving that is making this ministry possible.  I am truly grateful!  I remained in need of your supports.  Please continue your generous giving to the praise and glory of God.  May abundant blessings from our Lord Jesus be yours forever!
